WE BELIEVE IN ONE GOD

We believe in one God who is eternal in His existence, Triune in His manifestation, being Father, Son and Holy Ghost AND that He is Sovereign and Absolute in His authority.  _______________________________________________________________________________

 
WE BELIEVE IN JESUS CHRIST

We believe that our Lord Jesus Christ was begotten, not created, very God of very God, truly God, truly Man. He was born of the Virgin Mary, lived a sinless life, died a vicarious and atoning death for the sins of the world, resurrected bodily for our justification, and offers eternal life to all that believe in Him. _________________________________________________________________________

 WE BELIEVE IN THE HOLY SPIRIT

 We believe in the Holy Spirit who is God indwelling, empowering and regenerating the believer. We believe that the Holy Spirit indwells all believers, conforming them to the image of Jesus Christ. Regeneration begins with the work of the Spirit. Even our desire to respond to the Gospel is the gift of God. The Holy Spirit is involved in the whole conversion process. We receive our “adoption as sons” by the Spirit. We have a witness from the Spirit that we have become God’s children. It is the Spirit that reveals truth, comforts, and teaches.  So, anyone who is a believer must have the Holy Spirit within, since “no one can say that Jesus is Lord except by the Holy Spirit.”  This Holy Spirit is called the Comforter and the Spirit of Truth.

WE BELIEVE THAT BAPTISM IN THE HOLY SPIRIT IS AN ENDOWMENT OF POWER

We believe that the baptism in the Holy Spirit is an endowment of power given by God to anoint and empower the believer for service.  According to Scripture, the supernatural gifts of the Holy Spirit are active within the body of Christ until the coming of the Lord. Furthermore, we believe the development of these charismatic gifts ought to be encouraged under the guidance of local church authorities. _________________________________________________________________________

WE BELIEVE IN THE HOLY SCRIPTURES _________________________________________________________________________

We believe in the absolute inspiration of the Holy Scriptures, given by the Holy Spirit without error, as He moved upon holy men of old. Furthermore, we believe that the church has no authority to establish doctrine or practice contrary to these same Scriptures, which were subsequently accepted as canon by the early Christian Church.

WE BELIEVE IN JUSTIFICATION BY FAITH

The heart of the Christian gospel - the Good News - is the assurance that our Lord forgives the sinner who asks Him to do so. To “justify" in the theological sense, is to declare, accept, and treat someone guilty of an offense as though he were not penalty-liable. We believe that justification is by grace, through faith in our Lord’s sacrifice on Calvary. No ceremony, ritual or tradition can accomplish what He has already done. _________________________________________________________________________

We believe that all of God’s people are to be buried with our Lord Jesus Christ in the waters of baptism subsequent to conversion. Baptism is the God-ordained rite of passage that marks the transfer of our allegiance from the kingdom of Satan to the Kingdom of God. Legacy baptizes by immersion as this is the New Testament form of baptism from the scriptural record.   We believe that justification comes by faith in Jesus Christ and are compelled to reject the doctrine of baptismal regeneration, which is the belief that salvation takes place only if the rite of baptism is administered in a certain way.  We do not attempt to invalidate any sincere believer’s salvation or baptism if performed differently.

We believe in the literal second coming of our Lord, the literal rule of Christ upon the earth, the resurrection of the regenerate to eternal life and the unregenerate to eternal damnation, and the ultimate victory of the eternal Kingdom of God.   __________________________________________________________________________________

 
EQUIPPING OF THE SAINTS FOR MINISTRY

We believe that the calling of Apostle, Prophet, Evangelist, Pastor and Teacher are functional within the Body of Christ until the Lord’s return. Furthermore, these ministries are gifts to the church for the purpose of equipping the saints for the work of ministry that the Body of Christ be edified. __________________________________________________________________________________
